MUSIC LESSONS

Fiddle:  I began playing fiddle at age 8 and began teaching at age 13. I learned from Irish and Old-Time fiddlers. I am certiified in Suzuki Book1a but am not a classical player. I use some teaching techniques from the Suzuki repetoire but teach fiddle tunes.  I mostly teach by ear but can teach note reading as well. I can teach beginners to advanced players and
will start as young as 7 or 8.

Bagpipe:  I began playing the Scottish pipes when I was 13.  I play both the light music (marches and dance tunes) and pibroch (the classical music of the pipes). I can teach beginners to intermediate players.

Banjo:  I began playing banjo when I was 12.  I play old time frailing or claw hammer style.  I can teach beginners.

Lap Dulcimer:  I began playing the dulcimer when I was 5 as both my parents played and it was just lying around! I can teach individual lessons or, if a group is formed, I can give dulcimer group lessons.
